Without losing sight of the Douro Valley, the heart of this book is in Vila Nova de Gaia, in the entanglement of roads and lanes where the Port Wine cellars reside. “Cellars of Gold” presents in individual chapters for each cellar: its history, a description of its cellars and quintas, its Vintages, the range of its products, the most important markets as well as the main prizes each company has won. This is accompanied by a strong graphic element, resulting in a combination of an exclusive collection of photographs with the weight of history of each of the Port Wine exporting houses.
